Top 10 Reasons to Live in Cottonwood, Arizona

[00:00:00] Have you ever wondered about living in Cottonwood, Arizona? Well, today I'm gonna tell you about why I think living in Cottonwood Arizona is awesome. Okay, so reason number one, the views. I'm looking out at the Mingus Mountain range right now. I can walk out to my street and look and there are the Red Rocks of Sedona.

There's panoramic views. Beautiful Vistage and valleys. You're gonna have your camera out all the time, taking pictures. Reason number two, the weather. I'm standing out here and it's January 2nd, 2026 and the weather is gorgeous. It's 60 degrees, so just in general, the weather here is very temperate. Yeah, it gets a little hot in the summer for a couple of months, July and August, but it doesn't stay hot.

Cools off in the evening, and the best part is for those [00:01:00] people coming from places like I did the Midwest. We're used to seasons. We get to have spring, summer, fall, fall colors, and winter even without the snow. So the weather is another reason you wanna live here in Cottonwood, Arizona. Okay, so the third one is outdoor activities.

Outdoor activities here are abundant. My favorite is hiking. I do a lot of that, um, all over the Verde Valley, mostly in Cottonwood and Sedona. Birdwatching is a huge deal here. If you're a bird watcher, and I don't know what they're called, but there's a lot of migrating birds through here, and so it's a very popular place to come.

If you're a bird watcher, you also have camping. You have horseback riding, you have mountain biking, ATVing, off-roading, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, and tubing. I think I've covered most of them. And in there somewhere, [00:02:00] there's everything from easy to very challenging. So outdoor activities is a third reason to want to live in Cottonwood, Arizona.

Number four, wine. I did not know this until I started researching it, but Arizona Cottonwood is the heart of the Arizona wine country. So if you're looking for wine opportunities, if you're a connoisseur of wine, this is a great place to visit. We have a lot of local vineyards and we also have a lot of tasting rooms, and we also have wine tasting bus tours, so we've got you covered.

When it comes to wine number five. Retirement and family. This is such a family friendly community. It's a rural area. It's small towns, but it's the most welcoming small town I've ever lived in. And I've lived in a lot of small towns. I grew up in a small town. They have a lot of activities and events [00:03:00] that are oftentimes specific for, uh, older generation as well as younger people.

And there's just so many things to do here that you're never. Out of activities. It's safe and very neighborly. And again, that small town, rural feel very safe. Okay, number six, we have art, culture and history here, so we have history, we have everything Way back to the petroglyphs. Through the pioneers, the Native American tribes that have lived here all the way up to the current day of, we have ballet company and we have local artists galore.

You can find their work in a lot of the local shops here, especially in Old Town. And Sedona. Number seven, you're close to sed. And I say that as a benefit because I love Sedona. I love the Red Rocks. I love the ver diversity of restaurants and the culture [00:04:00] and the art. That's in Sedona. However, living in Cottonwood, you get all those perks without having to deal with the tourism.

Eight. It's very centrally located. I mean, that again is one of the things that drew me to here is it's 45 minutes to Prescott. Less than 30 minutes to Sedona, an hour to Flagstaff, and an hour and a half to Phoenix. So pretty much anywhere I need to go I can get to in less than an hour and a half. And that makes it a really popular place to live because you get the benefits of small town, but still close to everything you need.

Number nine. I gotta say it, even though I said something about OD outdoor activities, I just wanna specifically say we have a lot of local, state, and national parks, so there's a lot of areas where you can camp, where you can hike, where you can do all kinds of outdoor activities and just [00:05:00] enjoy those local parks.

I'm in one right now. And number 10, find my number 10 unique adventures. We have some pretty cool things that you can do in the area. Obviously it's mountainous, so one of the things you can do are the pink Jeep tours, not the pink Jeep, but Jeep tours where they go literally off road and show you all the things that are off the road in the mountains, in the ravines and things.

That's a pretty awesome adventure. There's out of Africa, which is in Camp Verde, and all of their animals, there are rescues. They're wild animals. You have the Verde Valley Railroad that does takes you out on excursions and back. That's pretty fun. And then there's also one that runs from Williams up to the Grand Canyon.

There's obviously hot air balloon rides. You get up very early in the morning and when I go out and hike, I can see the hot air balloons rising up at seven o'clock in the morning. You've gotta get out there early when it's still cool, but hot air balloon rides, horseback riding. [00:06:00] Obviously wine tasting tours, tubing, kayaking, all kind of fun things that they do out of the Verde River trips.

And my bonus number 11 is Cottonwood is affordable. Key words affordable compared to Sedona and Prescott. You can find a very nice single family home here for between three 50 to $500,000. Which is very reasonable for this area. And those are my top 10 reasons for living in Cottonwood. So if you are thinking about retiring here and moving here, please look at all of my other videos that talk about events here, activities here.

Watch my interviews with some of my other clients who've moved here and why they chose to do that.
